Young Researcher Day
Three of our young researchers gave presentations at the Young Researchers Day at the Institute of Ecology and Botany in Vácrátót Anna Kövendi-Jakó presented results on the impact of short-term seed storage, seeding year and time on seed-based grassland restoration and issues related to seed provenance. Nóra Sáradi reported on how the cover of annual and perennial invasive species in long-term grassland restoration data series changes with time and treatments, and how the abundance of invasive species in the surrounding landscape influences the success of restoration interventions. Márton Vörös reported on the applicability of multiple possible natural vegetation models for the planning of grassland restoration by shrub removal, by estimating the required treatment intensity, and discussed the ecological indicators mentioned in the literature for monitoring grassland restoration.
