Our work on the Natural History of Ecological Restoration blog

2025.04.24

The work of our group lead, Melinda Halassy, and group member, Katalin Török, towards recovering sandy grassland ecosystems at the Kiskun eLTER restoration experiment sites is introduced by the Natural History of Ecological Restoration blog in this post.

The piece allows the reader to understand the composition of the vegetation of the Kiskunság area, where the experiment sites are located, and the types of restoration interventions tested by the researchers - and their success in influencing the landscape's ecology positively. The article also highlights the opportunities of using restoration as a tool to combat Common Ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia), a highly allergenic plant present in many European open, disturbed landscapes.
